Want your logo designed?
Want that it would be bold, pretty, sophisticated and cheap. Now I have to bring it to you that there’s no such thing as a cheap logo. There is cheap crap that “designer” presented you as a logo. Real logo price starts at 80-100€ and goes up depending on complexity, usability, revisions etc.
What to consider when choosing a Logo Designer?
When choosing the “MAN” for this job is critical as choosing your shoes you are willing to pay for. He or she will create your business identity and you should see it as one of the most important parts of your business. Your logo will be representing your business services, products. So what to do? Consider these things first:
The way he represents his work;
The way he communicates with you;
Now I know that you are on a budget, everyone is but you have to give in order to receive good quality work and logo isn’t one of those things that you want to save your money on.
What to expect from Logo Designer?
Depending on what you want you should first give him freedom and trust him as his field specialist because what graphic designers are is a problem solver, not just artists who draw stuff. We provide you not just some fancy image, we provide a solution for this case its a logo. What we do, we research market, research your competitors and then consider what it should taste, smell and feel for your clients that they would consider buying from you.
So what you should expect is quality work, up to 2-3 sketches (ideas). After choosing one concept 2-3 variations including color variations. What you must draw to your attention is what it will logo look big and small and I mean really, really small. I know that designer must know these things, but you have to know it too. Also the smaller it gets the less detail it should have, otherwise it will be just a blurred stain.
See the difference? First one has details such as tail and scratches beneath and above eyes, the second one has just eyes. It was done intentionally because of detail loss when the image is small size.
For the end, I would like to point out that you should avoid very detailed logos, lots of fonts and colors. 1 font and 2-3 colors are more than enough. And also designer should provide you with original working, vector file (*.ai, *.eps) also print ready *.pdf. Also before everything you should point to designer where your logo will be used that he could provide all the sizes and variations needed (print, social, icons (from 1024px to 16px wide)) and guides where, how and which logo and what colors will be used. Note! That kind of work is professional and it will cost more, rather just to have a single sized logo with no guides.
